Mathieu Détaint, born 1975 in France. Starts photography at 17. Till year 2000, shoots mainly figurative images in black and white.
Years 2001-2005 come with a new approach of colour abstract photography. Numerous travels around the world allow a nearly constant try-out period for these new works.
Stays in Laos in 2005-2006 where the ‘Ambient inertia’ work gets structured. Flying back to France makes early 2007 a great working time on urban landscapes.
Year 2008 sees new conceptual projects being led in addition to Ambient inertia, which has been extended meanwhile to the world of horse racing, following a proposition of art expert Guy de Labretoigne.
Current art projects include collaborative works as well as studio works such as Life Under Plastic series.
